Whether you’re a local or just visiting Lincoln City, Oregon to vacation in one of the luxurious beach home rentals, you won’t be at a loss for things to do in September and October. Although these months signify the transition from summer to fall, this season is often referred to as the “Second Summer” because the sky is so blue, the temperatures are so warm, and the weather is so calm and mild. The best part, though, is that there are not as many fellow beach-goers to share the coastal splendor with now that school is back in session and the big summer vacation season is over. You and your loved ones can enjoy these Lincoln City activities without stress or worry – just take in everything that this beautiful section of the Central Oregon coastline has to offer during this special time of year!
Celebration of Honor
The Celebration of Honor takes place between September 19 and 22 at the Chinook Winds Casino Resort. This community celebration honors veterans of the United States Armed Forces, as well as active duty personnel and all of their family members. The American Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall and Field of 1,000 Flags will be featured. Call 1-888-CHINOOK for more information.
In addition to the events at the Chinook Winds Casino, there will also be a Red, White & Blue Glass Float Drop to commemorate the Celebration of Honor. The spectacle will showcase 50 red, white and blue glass floats that are “hidden” along Lincoln City’s coastline, which stretches about seven and a half miles. Spectators are welcome to search for these hidden gems, so long as weather permits. Call 1-800-452-2151 for more information.
Comedy at the Coast
The Chinook Winds Casino is hosting Comedy at the Coast this September 27-28, starting each night at 8 p.m. with a selection of talented comedians to get you chuckling. In addition to comedy, there is a No Host Bar to keep you refreshed as you enjoy the show.
Lincoln City Farmers and Craft Market
The Farmers and Craft Market is a weekly staple in Lincoln City, happening every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with wonderful wears and fare from local artisans, farmers, producers and craftspeople. It’s a great excuse to get outdoors and see what the local community has to offer!
As September draws to a close and we welcome October, there is plenty to keep you busy while you enjoy the fabulous vacation rentals and local lifestyle of Lincoln City, Oregon.
