And while you’re trying to search for a few treasures to take home, why not explore Lincoln City’s tidepools? Outdoor activities such as these are wonderful ways for individuals, couples, and families to get out and explore nature while still practicing social distancing from the home-base of our meticulously cleaned and sanitized beach home and condo vacation rentals. Lincoln City is waiting, and it’s never been a better time to become an agate hunter!

Agates: Semiprecious Stones from the Sea

Semiprecious stones include such natural wonders such as amber, aquamarine, emerald, jade, onyx, opal, pearl, topaz, turquoise, and many others. While most semiprecious stones are formed on land, others – such as pearls – are formed in the sea. Agates are unique because they are formed on land within holes inside volcanic rocks (similar to moganite and quartz), but because they form near the sea, they are first released into the water from nearby crumbling rocks. Then it’s only a matter of time until they wash up onto the shores of Oregon and Northern California. While most agates aren’t worth a whole lot of money, they are stunning to look at and can be used to make unique pieces of jewelry and other beautiful creations. It’s also just a whole lot of fun to hunt for them!

Not All Beaches Are Equal for Agate Hunters

Lincoln City has long been known as one of the best places on the Oregon Coast to hunt for agates, coral, and jasper. Even the experts at Oregon State University agree. With lodging options ranging from cozy beach condo rentals to vacation homes that sleep 16 people, your whole crew will also be accommodated in Lincoln City. If you’re looking to visit a few areas in your search for agates, Lincoln City is also a great place to start. Your best bet is to head south and stop at Beverly Beach and Moolack Beach (which are also known for fossilized mollusk and clamshells) before continuing on to Depoe Bay and Newport. Depoe Bay is a particularly good place for a day trip, as it is also known as the “Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast.” But you don’t need to leave Lincoln City and its 7½ miles of pristine beaches to see all sorts of sea creatures and find all sorts of sea treasures that have washed ashore. You could spend days just exploring this particular stretch of coastline. Lincoln City’s intertidal zones, where tide pools thrive, are also particularly wondrous around Roads End State Park in the north side of town. While there are still plenty of bookings available, it’s a good idea to act fast if you want to get your perfect beach house rental in Lincoln City this summer. The secret will soon be out that this is one of the best places to get away from it all on the Oregon Coast. Whether you’re most looking forward to hunting for agates, exploring the tidepools, or just enjoying a cool beverage from a hot tub with ocean views on the deck of your rental, A1 Beach Rentals has got you covered. Call (503) 232-5984 or simply book online today.

June Brings Good News for Oregon Beachgoers

The beaches officially reopened in Lincoln City in May and lodging was able to resume as of June 1, making it possible for visitors to return to our vacation homes and beach condo rentals. Lincoln City not only saw beaches reopen during this phase, but many parks and recreation areas reopened as well. Restaurants, bars, and retail outlets are also able to welcome diners, drinkers, and shoppers once again with new guidelines in place. The reopening guidelines for such businesses include spacing tables 6 feet apart, limiting the number of people inside at a time, and requiring employees to wear face masks. These added precautions should ensure a safe, healthy, and fun summer for locals and visitors alike on the Oregon coast.

New Lodging Protocols to Ensure Your Health & Safety

New sanitation and social distancing protocols were put in place when lodging and other businesses were allowed to reopen in June, and we are committed to meeting and exceeding these guidelines. Rooms are to be left empty for 24 hours between visitors, and vacation rentals are to be meticulously cleaned and sanitized before a new guest arrives. The cleaning staff is wearing masks and gloves, sanitizing all surfaces with CDC/ EPA approved disinfectants, washing linens with approved disinfectants at recommended temperatures, and replacing all unused linen and terry before a new guest arrives. We are also offering remote check-in to encourage social distancing. Your health and safety are our priority.

Supporting Local Businesses is this Summer’s Big Trend

A1 Beach Rentals is proud to be a locally owned and operated business in Lincoln City, Oregon. Supporting local and family-owned businesses in the area, from eateries to art shops, is a great way to help this community get back on its feet while you enjoy some time away this summer. Top Eight Hiking Trails in and Around Lincoln City, Oregon

The team at A1 Beach Rentals looks forward to welcoming you to our beach house rentals again once we’re on the other side of this. The truth is, we all need a few things to look forward to in the not-so-distant future. Hiking and beachcombing on the Oregon Coast are two great activities to look forward to because they are out in the open air where you can still socially distance while enjoying nature. Beaches and hiking trails throughout the Central Oregon Coast might be closed right now, but once they are reopened, we can all look forward to a long walk in a beautiful setting. In addition to the 7½ miles of pristine coastline (which is within walking distance from most of our beach condo rentals and vacation homes), there are also numerous hiking trails in and around Lincoln City, Oregon. Here are eight of the top hiking destinations in and around Lincoln City that are worth exploring once the trails reopen:

Dear Honored Guests –
We look forward to being on the other side of this and hosting you at our Oregon beach homes or condos!

1. Agnes Creek Open Space Loop. This moderately easy, 1.7-mile trail takes less than an hour to complete at a leisurely pace. The loop stretches through a serene forest setting and allows dogs as long as they are on a leash.

2. Alder Island Nature Trail. You can find this trail right within Lincoln City. The easy, 0.9-mile trail winds past Siletz Bay and can be completed in about 20 minutes plus the time it talks to walk from one of our beach vacation rentals. Oregon walkers of all ability levels can enjoy this trail.

3. Cutler Wetlands Open Space Loop. The Cuter Wetlands Open Space features an easy, breezy 0.6-mile trail that is great for bird-watching or just enjoying a quick walk through nature in a forest setting. The walk can be completed in approximately 15 minutes.

4. Devils Lake Boardwalk Trail. Mere minutes from downtown Lincoln City, you can find yourself in the Devil’s Lake State Recreation Area and/or Devil’s Lake State Park. The recreation area is where you’ll find the campgrounds with access to the lake for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating, and waterskiing. You can also take a lovely, 10-minute walk along the boardwalk with nature and water on either side of you. Just remember to watch out for the wildlife sharing this space with you!

5. Drift Creek Falls Trail. If you’re looking for a somewhat longer trail once the parks reopen, the Drift Creek Falls Trail in Siuslaw National Forest might be an ideal option for you. This 2.6-mile walk can be completed in about an hour and 20 minutes at a fairly leisurely pace. Just make sure to slow down enough to enjoy the beauty of this national forest!

6. God’s Thumb (via The Knoll). More experienced hikers may prefer the God’s Thumb trail, which is also located in Siuslaw National Forest with parking at Roads End State Recreation Site. The 4.4-mile, out-and-back walk is considered moderate in difficulty due to a steep climb at the end, but many people do take their children, and dogs are allowed on leashes. It is important to be cautious on this trail, as slips and falls have occurred in the past.

7. Kirtsis Park Walk. This is a great trail if you’re looking for an easy, forest park walk that starts right at the edge of Lincoln City. The 1.6-mile, out-and-back walk takes you through a lush, green setting and is just long enough to feel like you’ve got a good bit of exercise in.

8. Spyglass Ridge Open Space. Another relatively easy but absolutely stunning walk near Lincoln City is the Spyglass Ridge Open Space. Most of the 1.3-mile trail takes you through a forested setting, but if you take your time and keep exploring, you will find yourself with a stunning view of the ocean. The walk can be completed in less than 45 minutes and dogs are allowed on leashes. Our beach house rentals will be waiting for you once all the parks and other facilities reopen. You can rest assured that you will find an exceedingly clean, sterile, cozy, and comfortable place to enjoy the Central Oregon Coast upon arrival. We look forward to welcoming you to our home-away-from-home in Lincoln City again soon!

The Central Oregon Coast is alive with Mother Nature’s ferocity during the winter months as waves roll in all the way from Japan to a magnificent ending along Oregon’s many miles of Pacific coastline. Lincoln City’s 7½ miles of coastline sees waves as high as 30 feet and peak winds of more than 100 miles per hour during the height of the season. If you are feeling brave you can get your rain gear on and walk down to D River Wayside or Roads End State Park, or you can view the stormy weather from the comfort of one of our beach condo rentals. The Calm After the Storm

The beach conditions can be particularly beautiful following a storm. There are always all sorts of treasures that wash up on the shore for beachcombers to discover as well. Seashells and agates are sure to wash up, and occasionally antique glass floats from Japan still wash ashore. Just make sure to use common sense when beachcombing after a storm, just as you should when going out during bad weather. Don’t try to walk down to the waterfront in the middle of a dangerous storm and don’t pick up anything if you don’t know what it is first. That way you can ensure happy memories and enjoy the best that Lincoln City has to offer for many years to come! If this deal on winter bookings in Lincoln City is calling your name, you will need to act fast to get the property and dates you desire. Call or go online today and start planning your stay!

Not all vacation homes are created equal, though, especially when compared to the Beach Front Lodge and Loft. This oceanfront property offers wraparound views from floor-to-ceiling windows in the living spaces, a private viewing deck, a private grassy yard perfect for playing croquet or barbequing, a giant media room with 75-inch TV, and family room with games for all ages. The five bedrooms in this lodge-style home can sleep as many as 16 people and include a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and a twin bedroom with foosball. The gourmet kitchen has everything you need to feed an army, but there is also a kitchenette in the upper family room. Everyone is sure to enjoy the gazebo, cigar house, and Adirondack chairs for outdoor lounging, but if the weather outside is ghastly then you and your loved ones can enjoy the large stone mantel with gas fireplace while the kids might enjoy the secret attic and window boxes.

Property Features Galore

In addition to the property features described above, you will also enjoy the following comforts and conveniences at the Beach Front Lodge and Loft:

  • Media and family rooms include cable television, CD player, DVD player, flat screen TV, foosball table, kids’ games, and more.
  • Full kitchen includes a gas grill, stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, blender, coffeemaker, cookware, crockpot, toaster, and utensils.
  • Additional features include a modern shower and bathtub, separate bathroom in the master suite, Wi-Fi throughout the property, washer and dryer, linens, ironing board, and parking for as many as six cars.

Nearby Attractions to Make Your Trip

The beach is probably the biggest local attraction with opportunities for beach walking, beachcombing, boating, kite flying, lighthouse visiting, whale-watching, and more. The Beach Front Lodge and Loft offers easy access to tide-pooling from right outside the front of the house, but it’s also only a short drive for crabbing at Siletz Bay and deep-sea fishing at Depoe Bay. After driving 20 miles south, you will also find the famous Newport Aquarium. Other nearby natural wonders include rivers, hiking trails, biking trails, and a playground for the kids. You could do nothing but enjoy nature while visiting Lincoln City and leave very happy, but there are many additional attractions and local services to make your stay picture perfect:

  • Chinook Winds Casino, golf courses, miniature golf, and a movie theatre are all nearby.
  • An area fitness center and community center offer swimming and much more.
  • Local library, museums, theatre, art galleries, culinary center, and sightseeing are nearby.
  • You’ll find craft shopping, outlet shopping, and numerous gift and arts/crafts shops.
  • There is a wide variety of restaurants, bars, breweries, and cafes in the area.
  • The property is also close to gas stations, mini marts, grocery stores, ATM, FedEx, post office, and medical services.
